Finally, the “talk of a new women’s big 3” has popped up in the tennis world. With Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Elena Rybakina being the top names, the debacle has taken a turn, with Coco Gauff being left out of the conversation. Recently, tennis fans came forward in support of an argument about why the 20-year-old American tennis player cannot be in the same conversation with them.
Additionally, they highlight incidents in which the 2023 US Open champion was left behind by her peers. The detailed scrutiny highlights the difficulties the young player has had navigating her career in the face of the demands and expectations of the professional tennis circuit.
Tennis fans exclude Coco Gauff from the WTA Big 3 conversation
A fan recently posted a query about why she couldn’t figure out why Coco Gauff always seemed to be left out of conversations about the new competition between Swiatek, Sabalenka, and Rybakina, the women’s big three. “Please explain …. The talk of a new women’s big 3 rivalry with Swiatek, Sabalenka & Rybakina is great & all… But why not Gauff? She’s 3 in the world. She’s ahead in the H2H with Sabalenka & Rybakina. She has the same amount of Grand Slams as Elena. What gives?” – she wrote.
Looking into that, a lot of other tennis fans came forward to support the fact that she will not be included in the Big 3. A fan emphasized the fact that consistency may be the biggest issue while taking players for such a big tag. Along with that, he also dropped the reasoning that “Because the others have performed better than coco. She has the most bad losses and inconsistency,”
On the other hand, another fan clearly highlighted the statistical side of why she is behind the other three players. He wrote, “Gauff is the only one in top 10 that hasn’t won a match against a top 20 player in 2024 😱 sorry but she’s not a threat at this moment.”
Even though she is ranked third, her performance has not justified her ranking, leaving more reason for tennis fans to say so. Subsequently, a fan emphasized the fact that she is not a part of any of these times of discussion right now. “She is 5 in the race. If she improves her performance, she will be in the conversation.”
Moreover, a fan put forward an aggressive front on how people should stop. He also emphasized the fact that “Her ranking doesn’t reflect her quality and form. Since USO she has no game. She plays like 100-120 ranked players. Any other player in top 10 has better results since USO than her. Stop putting Coco where she doesn’t belong!”
Lastly, another fan detailed how, when these three players were picked up for the big three discussions, the 20-year-old American was not even near them. – “we have said it many times, simply one thing, when this was made, she was nowhere near them, and it stayed the same without any change (and hopefully will stay too).”
Subsequently, the two-time Australian Open champion herself talked about Swiatek and Rybakina being her biggest rivals on the court, leaving Gauff off the competitor’s list.
“me, Iga and Elena” – Sabalenka doesn’t have Coco Gauff in the list of her rivals
After playing the Madrid Open final against the Polish tennis player, in a press conference ahead of the Italian Open, she shared her belief in not having a different league, with them. But in the same conversation, she also tagged them as her biggest rivals.
She stated, “I know we have some rivals, meaning like me, Iga and Elena. We’re doing maybe more consistently, playing more consistently [than] past years. Maybe last year and this year so far.” However, the world’s number two-ranked tennis player shared her disagreement with the idea that the three of them are different from the other WTA players and expressed how anyone can defeat the other person in tennis.

the big 3 comments about coco is true, coco win most time when iga is not in the picture and when she has the whole stadium on her side i have noticed that over and over again, now Saba is can of like coco in a diffenrent sense, she make to many errors, it kind of frustrating looking at her game, cuzes players who not support to beat her do. The most consistant player is Iga and Ryba, but Ryba can be sick lots of the time, the winner of the 4 is Iga,
I am not Iga fan, but give the best of the 4 its iga

Ohh… You also notice how most of the spectators are on her side whenever she’s playing. It gives her a edge over her opponent because the spectators force errors out of her opponent just like when Sabalenka played against Danielle Collins in the QF of Madrid Open
