Bryson DeChambeau’s Shocking Meltdown at The Open: 3 Unbelievable Reasons Behind His Royal Troon Disaster!

Bryson DeChambeau, renowned for his power and precision, faced a tough challenge at the 2024 Open Championship. Despite a stellar performance in previous majors (T6, T2, and T1), DeChambeau failed to make the cut after a disastrous second round.

The LIV golfer scored five over par in the first round, with five bogeys, one double bogey, and an eagle. Fans were disappointed, especially after his triumphant win at Pinehurst. His second round was no better, shooting four over par and missing the cut by three strokes. Even the legendary Tiger Woods missed the cut, but DeChambeau’s exit stung fans more.

DeChambeau admitted to being underprepared, saying, “I didn’t get any practice in it, and I didn’t really play much in the rain.” The first round at Royal Troon saw rain and strong winds, challenging all players, including the two-time major winner.

He also cited equipment issues, explaining, “The golf ball is not compressing as much,” due to the colder, firmer conditions. Additionally, DeChambeau’s lack of rest played a role, as he had competed in several consecutive tournaments without a break.

Despite his poor performance, the Open Championship continues, with many players still vying for the Claret Jug. As for DeChambeau, fans will have to wait until next year to see him compete in another major.
