Despite Trailing Far Behind Brooks Koepka’s $11M Riches, Bryson DeChambeau Has Last Laugh Over Ex-Nemesis

Brooks Koepka’s 2024 season was a mixed bag of triumphs and letdowns. Despite becoming the first player in LIV Golf history to secure five victories, including wins in Singapore and at the Old White Course in Greenbrier, Koepka was left unsatisfied. His impressive record in the Saudi-backed league earned him $11.038 million and a 4th place finish on the money list. However, his performance in the majors was far from stellar, with his best result being a T26 finish at both the PGA Championship and the US Open.

In contrast, Bryson DeChambeau, once Koepka’s rival, shined where it mattered most. Though he failed to win any LIV events, DeChambeau captured his second US Open title and nearly clinched the PGA Championship, finishing second by just one stroke. This success in the majors placed him ahead of Koepka in the eyes of many, despite earning less money on the LIV circuit.

Koepka himself admitted to the disappointment, calling his season “very disappointing” even after his Greenbrier victory. His goal was a sixth major win, but while he dominated LIV, DeChambeau stole the spotlight in golf’s most prestigious events, leaving Koepka with a bittersweet sense of accomplishment.
