The year has been buzzing with speculation about Viktor Hovland’s potential move to LIV Golf, but the Norwegian star has consistently shut down the rumors, affirming his commitment to the PGA Tour. Recently, Hovland explained why he chose to play fewer events this season, sparking more intrigue.

In an interview before the 2024 BMW Championship, Hovland candidly shared, “I didn’t really feel like it,” when asked about skipping tournaments like the 3M Open and Wyndham Championship. Instead, he focused on refining his game with swing coach Joe Mayo in Nashville, which paid off with strong finishes in key events.

Despite some criticism of the PGA Tour’s management and a brief understanding of why others left for LIV Golf, Hovland made it clear that he isn’t interested in the breakaway league. “I don’t think their product is that great,” he stated, dismissing the LIV Golf format and emphasizing the importance of competition.

Hovland’s absence from several PGA Tour events may have fueled the rumors, but his commitment remains strong. As he puts it, he’s not leaving the PGA Tour anytime soon.
