‘Struggling With My Game’: Tommy Fleetwood Admits Disappointment as FedEx Season’s Brutal Reality Stares Back at Him

Tommy Fleetwood’s 2024 season has been steady, if unspectacular. The English golfer delivered four top-10 finishes in 18 events, with his most recent strong showing at the BMW Championship, where he tied for 5th. This performance propelled him from 31st to 22nd in the FedExCup Standings, earning him a coveted spot in the TOUR Championship.

Reflecting on his season, Fleetwood admitted it had been “good but not great,” with few standout moments. Despite some struggles earlier in the year, including missing the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he found his form with a T3 at the Masters and consistent finishes thereafter.

At a press conference in Colorado, Fleetwood acknowledged his ball striking wasn’t at its peak but emphasized the importance of patience. He believes a breakthrough victory could be on the horizon as he prepares for East Lake. His calm approach to the pressure of qualifying for the TOUR Championship has served him well, and he plans to maintain that mindset in Atlanta, hoping it will finally lead to his maiden PGA Tour win.
