Drama Unfolds: PGA Tour Winner Claps Back at Rory McIlroy After Scottie Scheffler Rant!

The PGA Tour–LIV Golf merger saga continues as Webb Simpson challenges Rory McIlroy’s claim that a deal is nowhere close. McIlroy recently stated that there has been little progress in uniting the rival tours, but Simpson, a PGA Tour Policy Board member, strongly disagrees.

After a meeting with Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the head of LIV Golf’s financial backer, Simpson insisted that talks have advanced, even if it doesn’t appear so publicly. “We’re definitely closer,” he told Sports Illustrated, adding that understanding of LIV’s goals has improved. However, the biggest roadblock remains LIV’s team format, which conflicts with the PGA Tour’s traditional structure.

Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler has voiced frustration over the sport’s division, lamenting the loss of competition due to LIV’s player exodus. “I wish some of those guys had stayed, but they made their choice,” the world No.1 said, making it clear that he has no regrets about remaining on the PGA Tour.

With the Masters approaching and tensions running high, the fight for golf’s future is far from settled!
