He noted that while the occurrence of mud balls was less frequent this year, they still significantly affected play, especially for those in leading groups. Spieth hinted at a form of censorship, stating that players are expected to “just deal with it,” implying that open discussions on the matter are not welcomed by Augusta National, known for its strict control over the tournament’s narrative .
