It was a wild scene at the 18th green of the Travelers Championship on Sunday afternoon, just as PGA No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was lining up what could potentially have been the winning putt.

With Scheffler looking down his birdie putt on the 18th green, holding a one-stroke lead over Tom Kim, play got halted quickly as five protesters stormed the greed with what looked like aerosol spray cans, getting paint on the green and running around the players.

Police officers and security members quickly intervened and got the situation under control, tackling several of the protesters.

The scene was quite crazy and led to a lot of reactions on social media

Scheffler went on to miss his birdie putt after the commotion, allowing Tom Kim to force a playoff with a birdie putt of his own to tie it. Scottie Scheffler, Golf, Tom Kim, Travelers Championship
