Xander Schauffele, enjoying a stellar year with wins at the PGA Championship and the Open Championship, has made a significant change in his inner circle. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics golf champion confirmed he has parted ways with his father, Stefan Schauffele, as his swing coach, now working with renowned coach Chris Como since March.

Schauffele credits Como, who has coached stars like Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau, for his recent successes. Reflecting on this shift, Schauffele shared, “Now that I’m working with Chris, [my dad] feels like he can take his hands off the wheel… He trusts him a lot; I trust him a lot.” Stefan Schauffele also endorsed the change, acknowledging Como’s impact.

Ahead of his tee-off in Paris, Schauffele expressed gratitude towards his father, emphasizing the multiple roles he played in his career. He also highlighted his desire to allow his father to enjoy life beyond the golf course, especially as he approaches his 60th birthday.
