Major Issue Turns Nelly Korda Vulnerable Against Charley Hull as Team USA’s Golden Hopes Fade

The world’s No. 1 female golfer, Nelly Korda, is set to face tough challenges at the 2024 Olympics. Korda, who won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games, is back to defend her title. However, statistics suggest it won’t be easy for her this time.

Charley Hull, representing Great Britain, is one of Korda’s major competitors. Hull, who skipped the 2020 Games, is back for her second Olympic appearance after finishing seventh in Rio 2016. With a driving distance of 270.030 yards in 2024, Hull holds an advantage over Korda, whose driving distance has decreased from 275.121 yards in 2021 to 266.800 yards in 2024.

Hull isn’t the only threat. Linn Grant of Sweden leads with a driving distance of 270.540 yards, while Yuka Saso of the Philippines follows with 268.060 yards. Both golfers surpass Korda’s current stats, adding to the intense competition for the gold medal.

With other strong contenders like Rose Zhang and Lilia Vu representing the US, Korda will need to step up her game to defend her Olympic title. Will Korda secure another win, or will she be outpaced by her rivals?

Stay tuned to find out as the competition heats up at Le Golf National.
