Charley Hull Climbs Leaderboard in Scotland After Embracing Links Golf

Charley Hull, a seasoned player on the Ladies European Tour, has always loved links golf, but she recently admitted it doesn’t come naturally to her. Hull, who feels her game is better suited for American courses, put in extra work with her coach to master the nuances of links play.

That effort paid off on Friday at the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open, where Hull shot an impressive 4-under 68, placing her just two shots behind the leader. Her round at Dundonald Links included six birdies, an eagle, and four bogeys, showcasing her resilience in challenging, windy conditions.

Despite recent struggles, including a shoulder injury, Hull is now in prime position for a strong finish at the Scottish Open. As she continues to adapt to the demands of links golf, Hull is also eyeing a spot on the Solheim Cup team, making her recent performance even more crucial.
